My name is Amy Fultz and I have been the Director of Alpharetta International Academy since 2016. Prior to becoming director of the school, I spent sixteen years studying Montessori and the last eight years teaching in the Montessori classroom. I received my Montessori certification from Pan American Montessori Society studying under Dr. Leland Meadows and also hold a bachelor of science in food science from Purdue University.
At AIA we look at each child individually as a whole child and encourage each to work to their fullest potential academically, socially and emotionally. Our students are recognized as individuals and respected for both their strengths and their weaknesses. Creativity is encouraged through art, story writing, drama and other artful activities.
Environment plays a crucial role in the success of a Montessori classroom. Our amazing staff is intentionally placed in our classrooms to create a calm nurturing environment where children can thrive and develop a strong foundation and love of learning. Our staff stays up to date with curriculum and Montessori practices through seminars, reading, discussion, visiting other schools and attending the American Montessori Society (AMS) Conference.
The community that exists within AIA is highly diverse – representing over 30 countries. This diversity is celebrated through our festivals and heritage days. We are striving to become a part of the larger surrounding communities of Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton and Cumming by participating in upcoming community events.
As director of AIA, my goal is to share how great AIA is with our outside community in an effort to grow our student body while continuing to provide excellence in education to our current students.
If you are currently part of the AIA family, we are glad you are here. We hope you will keep in touch even after you move on. When families graduate or move away we hear over and over again how much AIA is missed.
If you are not yet part of our AIA family, and are in the process of finding the right school for your child, we encourage you to schedule a tour and see for yourself what we are all about.
“It is true that we cannot make a genius. We can only give to each child the chance to fulfill his potential possibilities.”
